North Carolina and Ohio Senate Races Post Strong Fundraising Numbers

The latest FEC filings show substantial fundraising hauls in two closely watched Senate contests. In the North Carolina Senate race, Democrat Roy Cooper reported total receipts of $47.19 million, with $34.71 million in disbursements and $12.48 million remaining on hand. In the Ohio Senate race, Democrat Sherrod Brown raised $38.57 million and has kept a larger share in reserve, reporting $16.23 million cash on hand against $22.34 million spent.

Both campaigns show heavy burn rates relative to intake, a pattern common in competitive statewide races as campaigns ramp up paid media and organizing. Cooper has spent a larger proportion of his receipts than Brown, leaving Cooper with a smaller cash cushion relative to his total haul.

House Fundraising: Ocasio-Cortez, Peltola, and Johnson

In House contests, New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, running in the New York 14th District race, reported $37.43 million in total receipts, $23.78 million in disbursements, and $17.38 million cash on hand — the largest reserve among the House filings in this batch. Alaska Democrat Mary Peltola, in the Alaska at-large race, raised $32.62 million but has spent down to $3.16 million on hand after $29.46 million in disbursements, the tightest cash position of any candidate in this set. Louisiana Republican Mike Johnson, in the Louisiana 4th District race, reported $24.23 million in receipts, $17.95 million spent, and $7.53 million remaining.

Senate Filings: Collins, Booker, Rogers, Warner, and Paxton

Several other Senate campaigns posted filings of note. Maine Republican Susan Collins, in the Maine Senate race, raised $21.37 million and spent $18.56 million, leaving $5.39 million on hand. New Jersey Democrat Cory Booker, in the New Jersey Senate race, reported $20.66 million in receipts but spent only $9.28 million, leaving him with $22.57 million cash on hand — more than his total receipts for the period, the strongest cash position of any candidate in this batch. Michigan Republican Mike Rogers, in the Michigan Senate race, raised $20.57 million against $14.29 million in spending, with $6.53 million remaining. Virginia Democrat Mark Warner, in the Virginia Senate race, reported $19.90 million raised and $17.92 million spent, leaving $7.53 million on hand. Texas Republican Ken Paxton, in the Texas Senate race, raised $19.50 million, spent $14.57 million, and reported $4.93 million cash on hand, the lowest reserve among the Senate filings in this group.

What to Watch

4 governor races are rated Toss-up: Georgia, Nevada, Oregon, and Texas.

Senate Battlegrounds Crowd the Map

Seven Senate races sit at Toss-up: Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas. That breadth — stretching from traditionally safe Kansas and South Carolina to perennial swing states Michigan and Ohio — suggests a map wider than recent cycles. Watch whether polling in Kansas and South Carolina tightens further or snaps back toward historical partisan lean as the cycle progresses.

House Map: Michigan, Ohio, and New York Carry the Most Contested Seats

Michigan's 4th, 7th, and 10th districts are all rated Toss-up, alongside Ohio's 7th and 9th, giving both states outsized weight in the chamber fight. New York contributes two Toss-ups of its own, in the 17th and 21st districts. Watch district-level polling movement in these five states closely, since control of the House may hinge on a handful of these races rather than any single marquee contest.

Governors: Georgia, Nevada, Oregon, and Texas Remain Unsettled

The governor map adds its own uncertainty, with the Texas and Georgia contests among those still unresolved. Expect continued polling releases in both as campaigns head toward the next phase.
