In the Senate race on the same ballot, Democrat Abdul El-Sayed trails Republican Mike Rogers 51-47 in the identical polling round, consistent with the Lean R designation already assigned to that contest. The divergence — Democrats favored in the governor's race, Republicans favored down-ballot for Senate — mirrors the same split-ticket pattern showing up in Ohio this week.
Texas: Governor and Senate Both Inside Single Digits
Republican incumbent dynamics aside, the data shows Governor Greg Abbott leading Democrat Gina Hinojosa by one point, 49-48, in a GBAO survey fielded through August 9, while an Emerson poll fielded through August 10 shows a wider 49-45 Abbott advantage — both consistent with the race's Lean R rating in the Texas governor's race. In the concurrent Senate race, Emerson's same-week survey shows Republican Ken Paxton edging Democrat James Talarico 47-46, a one-point margin that matches the Toss-up rating on the Texas Senate race. Texas now stands out as the only state this week where both the governor's and Senate contests are drawing genuinely close numbers simultaneously.
Wisconsin Governor: Crowley Frames General-Election Strategy
Fresh off winning the Democratic nomination, Crowley used his first interview to center his campaign on opposing what he called "MAGA extremism," according to Politico, while working to consolidate support from voters who had backed rival Francesca Hong in the primary. Crowley stopped short of committing to campaign alongside further-left surrogates, a sign of the balancing act ahead as he tries to unify a Democratic coalition that split sharply in the primary. Florida House Race: Republican Field Vastly Outraises Frost
The Florida House race, rated Likely D, features a single Democrat, Maxwell Frost, against a crowded Republican field. Frost has raised $3.47 million and holds $1.28 million on hand, spending nearly all he's brought in with disbursements of $3.28 million.
Combined Republican receipts dwarf Frost's total many times over, led by Keith Gross, who has raised $12.33 million but carries just $1 million cash on hand after $11.33 million in spending. James Oberweis and Joe Strada show more conservative burn rates, each banking over $2.2 million despite lower overall receipts near $5.3 million.
The GOP fundraising volume reflects a contested primary rather than general-election positioning against Frost.
