Biography

Tom Begich is an Alaska politician who served in the state Senate representing District J from 2017 to 2023. He announced his Democratic candidacy for Alaska governor in August 2025. Begich comes from a prominent Alaska political family, as the son of former U.S. Representative Nick Begich Sr. and brother of former U.S. Senator Mark Begich.
