Biography
Shelley Hughes is a Republican candidate for Alaska Governor who served in the Alaska Senate from 2017 to 2025, representing the Palmer area and surrounding parts of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. Prior to her Senate tenure, she served in the Alaska House of Representatives from 2013 to 2017. Hughes is running as a challenger in the 2026 gubernatorial race.
