Biography

Darin LaHood is an attorney and Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois, currently representing the 16th district since 2023 and previously the 18th district from 2015 to 2023. He was first elected to Congress in a 2015 special election and served in the Illinois State Senate from 2011 to 2015. LaHood is the son of former U.S. Representative Ray LaHood, who previously held the same Illinois House seat from 1995 to 2009.
