# Jasmeet Kaur Bains Jasmeet Kaur Bains is a physician and member of the California State Assembly, where she has represented the 35th district since 2022. She is the first South Asian American woman and Sikh American elected to the State Assembly. Bains is seeking election to the U.S. House of Representatives in California's 22nd congressional district.
