Biography

Terry Virts Jr. is a retired NASA astronaut and former International Space Station commander with a background as a colonel in the United States Air Force. He is seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. House of Representatives in Texas's 9th congressional district. Virts previously ran for the U.S. Senate in Texas in 2026 before shifting his focus to the House race.
