Biography

Valerie Foushee is the U.S. representative for North Carolina's 4th congressional district, serving since 2023. She previously served in the North Carolina House of Representatives and was appointed to the state Senate, making her the first African American and first woman to represent the district in Congress. As the Democratic incumbent, she is seeking reelection to the House.
