Biography

Diana DeGette is a lawyer and longtime U.S. Representative for Colorado's 1st congressional district, serving since 1997 and currently serving as the dean of Colorado's congressional delegation. Before her election to Congress, she served in the Colorado State House representing the 6th district from 1993 to 1997. DeGette previously held the position of Chief Deputy Whip from 2005 to 2019.
