# John E. Sununu John E. Sununu represented New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997 to 2003 and served in the U.S. Senate from 2003 to 2009. He is the son of John H. Sununu, who served as Governor of New Hampshire and White House Chief of Staff under President George H. W. Bush. Sununu is seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire.
