Biography

Sylvester Turner is a Democratic politician and attorney from Texas who has held elected office at the state and local levels. He served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1989 to 2016 and as Mayor of Houston from 2016 to 2024, before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Texas's 18th congressional district in 2024.
