# Dan Ahlers Dan Ahlers is a South Dakota businessman and Democrat seeking the governorship. He previously served in the South Dakota House of Representatives (2006-2008 and 2017-2019) and South Dakota Senate (2008-2010), representing the 25th legislative district in the Sioux Falls area. Ahlers is challenging the incumbent governor in the 2022 election.
