# Kai Newkirk Kai Newkirk is an organizer and activist who co-founded 99Rise, a campaign-finance reform group, in 2012. He served as lead organizer of Democracy Spring, a 2016 Capitol sit-in focused on campaign finance and voting rights legislation. Newkirk is running as the Democratic challenger for Arizona's 4th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
