Biography

Sam Liccardo is an attorney and Democrat currently serving as the U.S. representative from California's 16th congressional district. He previously served as the 65th mayor of San Jose from 2015 to 2023, where he led the California Big City Mayors Coalition and worked on issues including homelessness and public health policy. Liccardo was first elected to Congress in 2024.
