# Christopher Coons Christopher Coons is a lawyer and politician who has served as the senior United States senator from Delaware since 2010. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served as county executive of New Castle County from 2005 to 2010. A member of the Democratic Party, he is seeking reelection to his Senate seat.
