Biography

Rohit Khanna is an attorney and Democrat currently serving as the U.S. representative from California's 17th congressional district, a position he has held since 2017 after defeating eight-term incumbent Mike Honda. Prior to his election to Congress, Khanna served as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce from 2009 to 2011 under President Barack Obama. He previously ran for the same House seat in 2014 before winning the general election in 2016.
