Biography

Thomas Earl Emmer Jr. is an attorney and Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Minnesota's 6th congressional district since 2015. He has served as House Majority Whip since 2023, a leadership position responsible for ensuring party members' attendance and support on legislation. Emmer has a background in law and lobbying prior to his election to Congress.
