# Sanford Bishop Sanford Dixon Bishop Jr. is a lawyer and Democratic U.S. representative from Georgia's 2nd congressional district, a position he has held since 1993. His district encompasses southwestern Georgia, including Albany, Thomasville, and portions of Columbus and Macon. As the current dean of Georgia's congressional delegation, Bishop is a member of the Blue Dog Coalition.
