Biography

Joyce Beatty is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Ohio's 3rd congressional district, serving since 2013, and previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008, where she held the position of minority leader. She chaired the Congressional Black Caucus from 2021 to 2023 and has held leadership roles in higher education, including serving as senior vice-president for outreach and engagement at Ohio State University.
