Maxine Waters is a Democratic U.S. representative serving California's 43rd congressional district, a position she has held since 1991. Her district encompasses much of southern Los Angeles and portions of surrounding communities including Gardena, Inglewood, and Torrance. She is seeking reelection to her current House seat.
