Biography

Mai Yang Vang is a Democratic politician currently serving on the Sacramento City Council, representing the 8th district since 2020. She is the first Asian-American woman and first person of Hmong descent elected to the council. Vang is running as a challenger for California's 7th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
