Biography

Mark Takano is an American politician and academic who has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013, currently representing California's 39th congressional district. He was the first gay person of Asian descent elected to Congress. Takano previously represented California's 41st district before redistricting placed him in the 39th district in 2023.
