Biography

Melanie Stansbury is a Democrat serving as the U.S. representative for New Mexico's 1st congressional district, which includes Albuquerque and surrounding areas, since 2021. She previously served in the New Mexico House of Representatives representing the 28th district from 2019 to 2021. Stansbury has a background as an ecology instructor.
