Biography

Steve Scalise is a Republican who has represented Louisiana's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House since 2008. He currently serves as House Majority Leader, a position he has held since 2023, and previously served as both House Majority Whip (2014-2019) and House Minority Whip (2019-2023). Scalise is seeking re-election to his House seat.
