Biography

Mark Pocan is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district, which includes the state capital of Madison, serving in that position since 2013. Prior to his election to Congress, Pocan represented the 78th district in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1999 to 2013, succeeding Tammy Baldwin in both the state legislature and later in the U.S. House. He serves as co-chair of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus and chair emeritus of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
