Terry Wayne Virts Jr. is a retired NASA astronaut and former International Space Station commander with a background as a colonel in the United States Air Force. He is seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Texas. Virts brings extensive experience in space exploration and military service to his candidacy.
