Biography

Tara Durant is a Republican politician and former educator who represents Virginia's 27th Senate District, a position she has held since 2024. She previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2022 to 2024, representing her district which includes Fredericksburg and portions of Spotsylvania and Stafford counties. Durant announced her candidacy for the U.S. House in Virginia's 7th congressional district in June 2025.
