Biography

Nancy Pelosi is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing California's 11th congressional district, which includes most of San Francisco. First elected to Congress in 1987, she served as Speaker of the House from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2019 to 2023, making her the first woman to hold the position. As the dean of California's congressional delegation, Pelosi is currently in her 20th term.
