Biography

Lloyd Doggett is a lawyer and long-serving Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas, representing the state's 37th district since 1995. Prior to his congressional service, Doggett served in the Texas State Senate from 1973 to 1985 and as a justice on the Texas Supreme Court from 1989 to 1994. He represents the same district that President Lyndon B. Johnson held from 1937 to 1949.
